This is a Full-time position for a CNA/Healthcare Tech in the Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) Hospital Float Pool Unit, working nights. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The position requires prompt attention to patient call lights, collection of specimens, and performing point-of-care testing. Additionally, the role involves completing errands, maintaining stock for the nursing area, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties that require lifting and pushing/pulling. Tasks related to nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, and ensuring special patient supplies are provided are also part of the duties. Under RN direction, may be required to remove IVs, provide post-mortem care, and perform bladder scans. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills for age-appropriate patient care, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
