About The Position

Senior Helpers of SWVA is urgently hiring caregivers in Marion, Virginia. The role provides personal care and/or companion care to seniors in their homes and community, with care assignments matched to the caregiver’s area of expertise. Caregivers support clients’ quality of life through assistance with daily activities, companionship, emotional support, and household tasks. Candidates may include CNAs, PCAs, New Graduate RNs, LPNs, LVNs, HHAs, and experienced caregivers.

Requirements

• Caring and compassionate, with an enjoyment of helping others.
• Strong communication skills with management and clients’ families.
• Willingness to learn new skills to best assist clients.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance, with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a Virginia State Police background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in healthcare, home care, assisted living, independent living, home health, medical assistance, or nursing assistance.
• Credentials or experience as a CNA, PCA, New Graduate RN, LPN, LVN, HHA, or experienced caregiver.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional personal care and/or companion care assistance to community members who need it.
• Assist with assigned activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide companionship and emotional support through conversation and recreational activities.
• Perform household tasks such as meal preparation and tidying up.
