About The Position

The Piper, a premier Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Kansas City, is seeking a skilled and compassionate CNA / Caregiver (Resident Assistant) to join their care team. This full-time position offers the benefit of working only three 12-hour shifts per week, providing four days off each week while earning full-time pay. The role involves providing hands-on care, assisting residents with daily living activities, building meaningful relationships, monitoring well-being, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The primary responsibility is to provide resident care services as scheduled, under the supervision of the Resident Services Director, maintaining a positive physical and social environment.

Requirements

  • Active CNA certification in Kansas (required).
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of related healthcare experience required.
  • A genuine heart for caring for seniors with dignity and compassion.
  • Dependable, patient, and a strong team player.
  • Comfortable working 12-hour shifts.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Assisted Living or Memory Care experience (strongly preferred).
  • Certification in CPR and first aid (preferred or as required by state).
  • May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA) depending on state requirements, if licensed or certified must be in good standing.
  • Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems is a plus.
  • If in an Ensemble Program community, must successfully complete required dementia training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfer, and incontinence care.
  • Build genuine, meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
  • Monitor resident well-being and communicate changes to the care team promptly.
  • Support Memory Care residents with patience, empathy, and dementia-informed care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout every shift.
  • Keep proper records of care, including resident service plans and documenting services provided.
  • Work closely and maintain daily communications with Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care.
  • Promote a safe environment for residents, associates, and visitors.
  • Support the programming and operations of the neighborhood.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.
