About The Position

Building & Earth Sciences is a construction materials testing and consulting firm committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability. The Construction Materials Testing Project Manager oversees and coordinates testing and inspection of construction materials at job sites. The role leads technicians and inspectors, ensures materials meet industry standards and project specifications, and works with project stakeholders to support safe, high-quality construction. The position also involves client relationship management and keeping current with applicable codes, regulations, and industry practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction materials testing and inspection.
• Leadership experience, including managing and mentoring teams.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant ASTM, ACI, and AASHTO testing methods and standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when interpreting testing data.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license; preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead technicians and inspectors, including supporting their training, development, and on-site safety.
• Oversee and conduct tests on concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, and other construction materials to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate testing schedules and activities with engineers, architects, and construction teams, providing insights and recommendations.
• Analyze test results, prepare comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to project stakeholders, including guidance on necessary adjustments.
• Stay current with relevant codes, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance with best practices and legal requirements.
• Build and maintain client relationships, address client concerns, and provide customer service.
