About The Position

As an ACI Certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field/Lab Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring construction materials meet required quality and safety standards. Your work helps protect public infrastructure and supports safe, successful projects across the Idaho Falls and Pocatello region. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Required field certifications such as ACI Field Level 1 and OSHA 10
  • Hands-on experience in construction materials testing, including at least two years working with concrete and soil compaction
  • The ability to read, understand, and consistently follow written procedures and safety requirements
  • The physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying conditions
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, proof of insurance, and flexibility to travel or work non-standard hours when needed
  • The ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing and maintain compliance with company safety policies
  • A professional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and pursue additional certifications such as ACI, ICC, and WAQTC
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with the public, contractors, supervisors, and teammates
  • A general understanding of construction practices, basic math and writing skills, and comfort using standard computer tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • The discipline to complete accurate field reports, return calls and emails promptly, and track and submit timecards and expenses daily

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and maintain required certifications; complete all training, safety documentation, and regulatory reporting in compliance with project, company, and industry standards.
  • Review project plans and specifications to understand testing requirements, compliance criteria, and inspection scope.
  • Collect representative samples and perform field inspections and testing of construction materials including rebar, epoxy, concrete, masonry, asphalt, and related components.
  • Assist with laboratory testing and analysis of construction materials as needed to support project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate, complete inspection and test reports and submit all required documentation before leaving the job site.
  • Track time, materials, supplies, and expenses; complete daily timecards; communicate professionally; uphold Atlas property standards; and support workload demands in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and surrounding areas.
