As a CMP Equipment Engineer, with a strong focus on safety and quality, you will play a meaningful role in improving our manufacturing processes by focusing on the installation, maintenance, optimization, and development of our CMP equipment. Your expertise will give to the production of high-quality semiconductor components that are pivotal to our customers' success. You will work closely with multi-functional teams to tackle equipment issues and implement solutions that improve efficiency and yield. Your passion for engineering and willingness to learn will help us overcome the challenges of this fast-paced industry. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values collaboration, and is eager to dive deep into the technical aspects of semiconductor manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of CMP equipment and planarization processes (pads, slurries, post-CMP clean interactions preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, equivalent military experience, or AAS with 5+ years of industry experience
  • Willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and integration impacts of CMP
  • Experience with defect reduction, consumables management (pads, slurry), and slurry delivery systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach (SPC/FDC familiarity preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams and suppliers
  • Experience with data analysis, scripting, or programming tools

Responsibilities

  • Installation and qualification of advanced CMP equipment in a state-of-the-art cleanroom
  • Own CMP equipment performance, including data analysis, preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation
  • Drive improvements in equipment uptime, defectivity, and process stability through systematic problem solving
  • Collaborate closely with process engineers to identify and resolve equipment-related issues impacting yield, planarization uniformity, and wafer quality
  • Use project management skills to execute projects that close hardware and performance gaps in equipment
  • Establish strong vendor partnerships to support upgrades, performance improvements, and best-in-class tool metrics
  • Develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies to sustain high-volume manufacturing performance
