About The Position

Federal Equipment Company (FEC), now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is a leading supplier of marine deck machinery and specialized weapons and material handling systems. The company is rapidly growing and in need of a CMM Programmer III. This role is responsible for producing inspections of machined/fabricated parts by programming, setting up, and operating a coordinate measuring machine (CMM). The position requires maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Reliable transportation to and from work.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma.
At least 4 years of related manufacturing experience.
Experience with PC-DMIS (CAM2 a plus).
Ability to use measuring instruments, (digital AND dial/analog - micrometers, calipers), test sets, and gauging equipment.
Ability to read customer drawings and specifications, including GD&T.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dimensions, tolerance, etc.
Ability to operate Windows based computers and working knowledge of typical office programs – i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
Ability to competently perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Engineering or Technical Bachelor of Science preferred.
CAD/Solidworks preferred.
FARO Arm and Tracker a plus.

Responsibilities

Program and operate CMM to effectively measure products to meet customer specifications.
Program and operate other equipment to effectively measure products to meet customer specifications. (Training provided as needed)
Prepare reports to describe inspection results and prepare documents.
Ensure that the CMM is kept clean, and calibration verified.
Develop CMM programs using various software.
Utilize precision measurement (“hand” inspection) tools as needed for quality checks.
Administer and/or edit previously created CMM programs to ensure that the part inspection programs are consistent with part number and revision level.
Analyze and troubleshoot machine set-ups and inspections paths.
Communicate with Quality Manager and/or plant supervision noted deviations of tolerance and quality.
Follow all company policies and procedures as applicable to position.
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
Understand and follow health, safety, security, and environmental practices.
Other duties as required.
