CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Programmer/Operator & Quality Technician-2nd Shift
About The Position
Electrolux Group is seeking a detail-oriented Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer and Quality Technician to inspect incoming raw materials and in-process components and ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The role operates, programs, and maintains CMM equipment, analyzes measurement data, and supports continuous improvement initiatives in the quality department. It also provides technical leadership in metallurgy, including material characterization, failure analysis, process development, supplier support, and improvement efforts. The position is based at the Kinston Dishwasher Plant in Kinston, North Carolina, in a normal manufacturing environment. The schedule is second shift, 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing or quality environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles.
- High school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect machined, fabricated, and assembled components.
- Develop, modify, and optimize CMM programs using engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements.
- Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in metallurgy, providing technical leadership in material characterization, failure analysis, process development, supplier support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Analyze inspection results and produce detailed reports documenting compliance or nonconformance.
- Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
