About The Position

United CNC Machining is seeking a CMM Operator experienced with the Hexagon Romer Absolute Arm (or equivalent portable CMM arm) and PC-DMIS software to perform first article, in-process, and final part inspections on precision-machined aerospace and defense components. This role supports our AS9100D/ISO 9001 quality system and requires familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience operating a portable CMM arm (Romer/Roamer, FARO, or similar)
Proficiency in PC-DMIS software (programming and operation)
Strong knowledge of GD&T (per ASME Y14.5) and blueprint reading
Ability to use standard measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) as needed
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Must be able to obtain/maintain compliance with ITAR requirements (U.S. Person status required)

Nice To Haves

Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports preferred
Aerospace or defense manufacturing quality experience strongly preferred
Familiarity with AS9100D/ISO 9001 quality systems a plus

Responsibilities

Operate portable CMM arm (Romer/Roamer Arm III) to inspect machined parts against engineering drawings and specifications
Create, edit, and run inspection programs using PC-DMIS software
Perform first article inspections (AS9102 format) and generate FAI reports
Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional conformance
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and customer specifications
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
Identify and report nonconformances; support root cause and corrective action activities
Calibrate and maintain measurement equipment per quality procedures
Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality team to resolve dimensional issues
Maintain compliance with ITAR and customer-specific quality requirements
