About The Position

We are currently seeking a CMM Operator under the direction of the Quality Supervisor. In all actions, the CMM Operator will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and support Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement, and other Company policies and procedures. This includes supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability, and respect for people.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
  • Familiar with Polyworks, Verisurf or PC-DMIS Software
  • The ability to read blueprints, mylars and customer specifications.
  • Familiarity with CATIA/SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD Software.
  • Solid experience with various measurement tools and methods.
  • Manufacturing experience particularly with computer assisted production.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • The ability to work with all Company personnel in a cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Work record, which demonstrates a commitment to quality and efficiency. This includes a good attendance record.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 30-50lbs
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably prior CMM experience or CNC mill operation experience with posting and running jobs

Responsibilities

  • Start up and operate the CMM following the proper operating and safety procedures.
  • Read and understand setup sheets and set up jobs per instructions.
  • Read and understand Sonaca North America sampling plan and run setup jobs per plan requirements.
  • Read and understand CMM part programs, make minor setup and program adjustments as necessary on a personal computer (PC) system.
  • Complete data entry and exchange through the CAD/CAM and work tracking systems.
  • Follow parts schedule prepared by the supervisor.
  • Modify the schedule as required to accommodate “hot jobs” or emergency requirements.
  • Work with CAD/CAM programmers, quality, and production personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance on the CMM to ensure the safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate in work center team and/or other project teams.
  • Utilize forklift to setup fixtures used for CMM.
