About The Position

We're seeking a detail-driven CMM Quality Inspector to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team. In this role, you'll inspect precision-machined aerospace components using CMMs, vision systems, and manual inspection equipment to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and industry quality standards. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing inspection, metrology, or CMM inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Basic understanding of GD&T
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with inspection software and electronic documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide direct, respectful feedback
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • AS9100 and/or AS9102 experience
  • Experience as a Quality Inspector, CMM Inspector, DQR, or Metrology Technician
  • CMM programming experience (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software)
  • Experience inspecting complex, tight-tolerance machined components
  • Associate degree or technical training in manufacturing, engineering, quality, or related field
  • CNC machining or manufacturing support experience
  • Process improvement or continuous improvement experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) for in-process, first article, first piece, and final inspections
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections on machined metal, plastic, and aerospace components
  • Utilize inspection equipment including: CMMs, Vision Inspection Systems, Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, Gauge Pins, Verniers, Fixtures and hand gauging equipment
  • Complete close-tolerance inspections using GD&T principles
  • Interpret customer drawings, 3D models, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation
  • Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) as required
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions
  • Complete production routers, inspection methods sheets, and certification reviews
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and audit-ready
  • Identify nonconforming products and support root cause investigations
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve issues
  • Assist with inspection planning, engineering markups, and inspection strategies
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and aerospace quality standards
  • Meet quality and productivity expectations while maintaining attention to detail
