Job Summary This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions and carries out both administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. This position is instrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the patient's visit.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or Practical Nursing program.
  • Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN obtained through professional MA/LPN work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in the state of WI through an approved accreditor. Upon Hire Required
  • Valid Practical Nursing license in the state of WI through an approved accreditor. Upon Hire Required
  • CPS/BLS Certification Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from approved program or Prevea sponsored program. Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
  • Coordinate provider schedules and appointment, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
  • Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
  • Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
  • Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards. Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
