Cluster Supply Chain Manager

Tenneco•Plymouth, MI

About The Position

The Cluster Supply Chain Manager will serve as the cluster-level deployment leader and P3 Specialist for P3 Integrated Supply Chain. The role drives plant certification by enabling Plant Supply Chain Leaders and pillar owners to stabilize critical execution, standardize the operating model, simplify processes and systems, and certify sites against P3 maturity requirements. It builds the capabilities, governance, methods, standards, and accountability needed for plant teams to own and sustain certification rather than replacing plant ownership. The position connects demand and outbound planning, supply and inbound planning, material handling and internal flow, transportation and logistics, ERP and inventory integrity, Lean and continuous improvement, and plant supply chain leadership. The manager translates maturity requirements and certification evidence into practical roadmaps, routines, ownership, and measurable execution. The work includes coaching plant leaders at Gemba, establishing governance and accountability, using data to identify systemic causes, simplifying processes, and leading change across plants with different maturity and complexity. The manager leads a cluster-wide sequence of stabilizing operations, standardizing processes, simplifying work, and certifying plants. Responsibilities include maintaining a certification pipeline, validating evidence, conducting assessments, supporting formal certification, and ensuring post-certification compliance. The role also promotes an integrated operating model, scalable best practices, stronger customer and business performance, and sustained plant capability.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated end-to-end supply chain leadership in manufacturing across demand and supply planning, production scheduling, inventory, material handling, logistics, ERP, supplier performance, and customer delivery.
  • Proven success deploying common processes across multiple plants with different systems, maturity levels, products, and organizational capability.
  • Experience translating operating-system or P3 maturity standards into assessments, roadmaps, evidence, governance, certification, and sustainment.
  • Practical Lean supply-chain experience with daily management, Leader Standard Work, value-stream mapping, pull, Kanban, supermarkets, standard work, Kaizen, A3/PPS, and flow improvement.
  • Experience improving ERP adoption, MRP execution, master data, inventory controls, automation, business intelligence, and elimination of shadow processes.
  • Ability to coach leaders, facilitate difficult cross-functional decisions, build capability, and influence in a matrix without taking ownership away from the plant.
  • Experience managing roadmaps, milestones, resources, risks, savings, performance outcomes, and executive communication across multiple sites.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations, business, or a related field.
  • Strong ERP/MRP, Excel, BI, analytics, and process-mapping capability.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, executive communication, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%–75% across the assigned cluster and work effectively at Gemba with plant teams.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP or comparable supply-chain certification.
  • Additional languages relevant to the assigned cluster.

Responsibilities

  • Translate P3 maturity requirements, operating standards, certification KPIs, and evidence requirements into practical plant roadmaps, ownership, routines, and measurable execution.
  • Coach Plant Supply Chain Leaders and pillar owners at Gemba, building standard work, skills matrices, trained backups, problem-solving capability, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Establish RASCI, tier and S&OE interfaces, KPI reviews, escalation paths, action management, and review cadence.
  • Build site P3 Integrated Supply Chain roadmaps and organizations; calibrate priorities, remove barriers, and prepare plants to own and sustain certification.
  • Strengthen demand management, S&OE, finite production scheduling, production control, WIP and finished-goods optimization, customer delivery, scorecard review, and recovery discipline.
  • Improve MRP cadence and exception closure, supplier scheduling, raw-material optimization, supplier risk and performance, inbound planning, and recovery governance.
  • Deploy PFEP, packaging and storage standards, warehouse controls, supermarkets, pull signals, replenishment routes, FIFO, line-side presentation, and safe internal flow.
  • Improve ERP system-of-record discipline, master-data ownership, transaction practices, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and recurring variance closure; eliminate shadow systems.
  • Standardize transportation lanes, routing, planning, tendering, shipment visibility, carrier escalation, invoice controls, load utilization, and premium-freight governance.
  • Build value-stream roadmaps, pull systems, velocity improvements, standard work, Gemba coaching, structured problem solving, Kaizen execution, and measurable benefit tracking.
  • Provide plant and cluster leadership with fact-based views of maturity, risk, KPI gaps, resource barriers, cross-site priorities, and certification readiness; escalate systemic issues.
  • Align cluster deployment with regional and global P3 teams, calibrate standards, convert field learning into playbooks, and transfer replicable best practices across plants.
  • Stabilize customer delivery and plant continuity by controlling shortages, backlog, schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, premium freight, shipment risk, and ERP exceptions.
  • Deploy common process definitions, governance routines, planning rules, ERP transaction standards, KPI definitions, evidence controls, and review cadences across the cluster.
  • Simplify operations by removing duplicate reports, disconnected spreadsheets, unnecessary approvals, inconsistent local practices, avoidable handoffs, excess inventory, transportation waste, and manual workarounds.
  • Standardize and maintain training, documents, evidence, tools, metrics, templates, and control methods required for consistent P3 deployment and certification.
  • Maintain a fact-based certification pipeline for every plant, including maturity status, milestones, evidence readiness, compliance gaps, owners, due dates, and escalation needs.
  • Lead plant self-assessments and calibration, validate evidence through Go-Look-See, act as the initial compliance auditor, close maturity gaps, ensure KPI readiness, conduct pre-assessments, support formal certification, and perform post-certification evaluations.
  • Manage multi-site roadmaps, milestones, resources, risks, savings, performance outcomes, and executive communication.
  • Travel 50%–75% across the assigned cluster and work effectively at the Gemba with plant teams.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support well-being.
  • Opportunity to work and learn in a fast-paced environment while shaping the P3 Integrated Supply Chain operating system.
  • Hands-on exposure to Lean, ERP, analytics, cross-functional problem solving, and plant transformation.
