About The Position

This role involves providing support as directed by a designated supervisor, exercising good judgment and discretion in executing and developing Academic Success Programs within Club Sports. The primary focus is supervising students with a GPA below 2.5 in the study hall setting.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Business Development or Education.
  • 1+ years in an office environment.
  • 1+ of those years in a management capacity.
  • Strong experience in academic development with knowledge of a variety of sports teams’ functional requirements.
  • Well-developed communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow for a professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support as directed by designated supervisor.
  • Supervise study hall students below a 2.5 GPA.
  • Directly supervise Study Hall daily.
  • Challenge student-athletes to achieve academic goals.
  • Provide and facilitate a healthy and effective study space for student-athletes.
  • Work as part of Club Sports team and individual.
  • Work to enhance the Club Sports programs and uphold the mission and values of Club Sports.
  • Work under the direction of the ASHA.
  • Work in study hall setting.
  • Maintain a flexible attitude and work ethic to work as a team and individual.
  • Perform assigned duties from supervisor(s).
  • Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
