About The Position

Provide support as directed by designated supervisor. Job Summary Working independently, exercising good judgment and discretion in executing and developing the Academic Success Programs within Club Sports. Supervising study hall students below a 2.5 GPA.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Business Development or Education.
  • 1 + years in an office environment functioning with 1+ of those years in a management capacity.
  • Strong experience in academic development with knowledge of a variety of sports teams’ functional requirements.
  • Well-developed communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow for a professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak to effectively communicate orally.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel, or stoop to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Responsibilities

  • Academic Enhancement of Club Sports student-athletes.
  • Directly supervise Study Hall daily.
  • Challenge student-athletes to achieve academic goals.
  • Provide and facilitate a healthy and effective study space for student-athletes.
  • Work as part of Club Sports team and individual.
  • Work to enhance the Club Sports programs and uphold the mission and values of Club Sports.
  • Work under the direction of the ASHA.
  • Work in study hall setting.
  • Must have a flexible attitude and work ethic to work as a team and individual.
  • Assigned duties from supervisor(s).
  • Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
