About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join their team in Springfield, VA. This role supports challenging, mission-critical projects in the Cyber, Security, & Intel space, specifically for the Geospatial Enterprise Open Data Store (GEODS) contract. The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for overseeing product testing from development to operational deployment, collaborating with Scrum Masters and developers on requirements, and contributing to the GEODS program's backlog and roadmap. The position requires a TS/SCI level security clearance with CI scope Polygraph and the ability to report on-site daily.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI level security clearance with Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years experience, Associates degree plus 7 years experience or a minimum of 8 years of experience, in a related field
  • Cloud Certification, preferably AWS, OCI, Google cloud

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency with the AWS C2S suite and services.
  • Experience administering and managing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting and providing AWS technical support to the NGA enterprise.
  • Senior level experience managing and administering Linux/Windows based systems including patching, updates, and configuration management.
  • Experience with Active Directory and managing/maintaining Windows servers
  • Analyze logs and troubleshoot issues on EC2 instances by establishing SSH connections using tools such as MobaXterm or Putty
  • Creating IAM users/roles/policies per user requests.
  • Writing json IAM/S3 policies to administer access to various IAM roles and S3 objects.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Using LDAP to administer account creation & management on various Linux Servers.
  • Provide support, improve and implement internal components and applications on top of multiple clusters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems.
  • Isolate and resolve problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications, other infrastructure, or any combination as needed.
  • Prepare problem reports to appropriate leads like Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Deploys operating system and application software to cloud compute resources.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination of these.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems.
  • Monitor and report on system health using various dashboarding tools such as Elasticsearch Kibana, AWS Cloudwatch, etc.
