About The Position

Microsoft is on a mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. The Data Security Cloud Solution Architect helps enterprise customers protect sensitive data, reduce risk, and securely adopt AI using Microsoft Purview, Security Copilot, Agent 365, and the Microsoft Frontier Suite. In this customer-facing role, you will own the technical relationship and data security strategy between the customer and Microsoft, guiding engagements from discovery and architecture through adoption and optimization. This role involves securing the AI Estate by helping customers assess and reduce data and AI risks as they adopt Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI applications, and agents, using DSPM and DSPM for AI for visibility and remediation. It also focuses on driving Data Security Adoption by accelerating the effective use of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, and Insider Risk Management. Additionally, the role involves protecting AI Agents by defining Purview data security controls and coordinating specialists, and applying Security Copilot in Purview to improve investigation efficiency. The architect will also deliver customer outcomes by translating objectives into clear scopes and delivery plans, orchestrating teams and partners, and removing blockers. Finally, the role requires representing the customer by escalating blockers, defects, and feature requests, sharing insights with engineering, and upholding Microsoft’s security, privacy, responsible AI, and quality commitments.

Requirements

  • Technical experience in data security or secure AI, including the ability to translate business, risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements into adoption plans.
  • Deep expertise in data security, complemented by a broad understanding of identity, threat protection, security operations, cloud security, and AI security.
  • Customer-facing experience advising technical and executive stakeholders in data security or secure AI engagements.
  • Business acumen and execution skills, with the ability to connect customer priorities, risk, and technology investments to practical plans, coordinated action, and measurable outcomes.
  • Growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning, sharing knowledge, and helping others succeed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and executive audiences in English and German (C1).

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in Microsoft Purview capabilities or comparable data security solutions, such as Data Security Posture Management, Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, or Insider Risk Management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview architectures and enterprise-scale implementation patterns.
  • Knowledge of the data security market; relevant regulations, standards, and certifications such as ISO 27001 and NIS2; and emerging developments in data and AI security.
  • Experience applying multiple Microsoft Purview capabilities, Security Copilot, or data protection controls for Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI agents.
  • Experience coordinating Microsoft teams and partners in complex customer engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical relationship and data security strategy between the customer and Microsoft, guiding engagements from discovery and architecture through adoption and optimization.

  • Accelerate effective use of Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, and Insider Risk Management, so customers achieve sustained protection and value.
  • Define Purview data security controls for AI agents and coordinate specialists across identity, threat protection, applications, and security operations to establish integrated governance and protection.
  • Help customers use embedded and agent-based experiences, including DLP triage, Insider Risk triage, and DSPM capabilities, to improve investigation efficiency and data security outcomes.
  • Translate objectives into clear scopes and delivery plans, orchestrate the right Microsoft teams and partners, and remove blockers to accelerate progress.
  • Escalate blockers, defects, and feature requests through established feedback channels, share insights with engineering, and uphold Microsoft’s security, privacy, responsible AI, and quality commitments.
