About The Position

The Cloud Architecture team at Hitachi Vantara is central to the company’s global digital transformation, responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and resilient cloud platforms for both enterprise IT and product development. The team operates primarily on AWS, with GCP as a strategic secondary platform, designing and governing multi-cloud environments that foster innovation while upholding strong security, networking, and operational standards. As the company's cloud presence expands, there's a need for experienced architects to contribute to cloud strategy, infrastructure modernization, and the support of emerging technologies like AI and machine learning.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of enterprise IT experience.
  • Significant hands-on AWS architecture and engineering expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS Organizations, Landing Zone, Control Tower, Service Catalog, and Service Control Policies.
  • Strong experience designing and operating cloud networking solutions including Transit Gateway, Shared VPCs, hybrid connectivity, and multi-cloud architectures.
  • Expertise in AWS security, governance, identity, and cost management best practices.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms, including EKS, ECS, and GKE.
  • Knowledge of serverless and event-driven architectures using services such as API Gateway and Lambda.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP, including Organization design, IAM, Shared VPCs, networking, and core platform services.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML cloud platforms and services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, Vertex AI, or similar technologies.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification (current).
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring capabilities within globally distributed teams.

Nice To Haves

  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evolve Hitachi Vantara’s multi-cloud platform across AWS and GCP as a senior technical leader.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, networking, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Establish governance, operational standards, and best practices for cloud environments.
  • Own core cloud services, connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments, workload migration strategies, disaster recovery architecture, and multi-cloud networking.
  • Partner with business and product teams to enable AI/ML initiatives by designing cloud environments optimized for training, inference, and data platforms.
  • Mentor engineers and architects, driving technical excellence and cloud adoption across the organization.
