About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Cloud Platform Manager to join the team in Seattle, WA; North Charleston, SC; Chicago, IL; El Segundo, CA; Mesa, AZ; San Diego CA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO. The Cloud Platform Manager will lead and grow the Cloud Foundations and Developer Experience (DevEx) teams, owning delivery of the enterprise cloud control plane, account/subscription governance, identity & policy frameworks, reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and the developer-facing self-service experience. You will set strategy and priorities across Foundations and DevEx, ensure high-quality handoffs to runtime and ops teams, remove cross-team blockers, and drive adoption of standardized cloud practices that improve velocity, security, and compliance. This is a people and program leadership role with strong expectations for technical judgment and cross-functional influence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering, Development Operations (DevOps), and/or related technical roles
  • 5+ years of experience with multi-cloud providers (Azure/ AWS / GCP experience desirable) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform, modules, registries)
  • 3+ years of experience in people management and/or cross-functional leadership
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams that deliver cloud landing zones, account/subscription governance, identity/federation patterns, and/or developer self-service platforms
  • 3+ years of experience aligning technical roadmaps with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance requirements
  • Experience owning and/or partnering on developer portals, CI/CD templates, and self-service provisioning workflows
  • Experience delivering production handoffs and operating cross-team delivery processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with stakeholder management and communication skills while being able to translate technical tradeoffs to business leaders
  • Experience in regulated environments and/or with compliance frameworks relevant to enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST))
  • Experience with policy-as-code (Azure Policy, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Configuration, Open Policy Agent (OPA)), identity federation (Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)/OpenID Connect (OIDC)), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models at scale
  • Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), CI/CD systems, and portal/UX technologies
  • Experience with metrics-driven product management and developer experience measurement (NPS, adoption, lead time)

Responsibilities

  • Own the combined roadmap and delivery priorities for Cloud Foundations and DevEx, aligning with enterprise cloud strategy and platform goals
  • Lead, mentor, and scale teams responsible for landing zone architecture, account provisioning, identity & access patterns, policy integration, golden Terraform modules, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) templates, and the internal developer portal
  • Ensure Foundations delivers secure, auditable, and reusable control-plane IaC, account provisioning automation, and identity/governance patterns consumed by platform consumers
  • Ensure DevEx delivers developer-facing golden paths: reusable modules, pipeline templates, self-service provisioning workflows, portal User Experience (UX), and documentation that reduce friction and shadow infrastructure
  • Define and enforce cross-team operability and security requirements for artifacts produced by DevEx and Foundations; own acceptance criteria for production handoffs to Runtime Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)/Cloud Ops
  • Drive strong collaboration among Foundations, DevEx, Platform Acceleration, Runtime SRE, Cloud Security/Policy, and Cloud Architecture to eliminate silos and align implementation with reference architectures
  • Sponsor and monitor metrics for adoption, policy compliance, provisioning lead time, and developer experience; iterate priorities based on telemetry and stakeholder feedback
  • Represent the Cloud Platform organization in architecture reviews, risk assessments, vendor evaluations, and executive updates
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party offerings where appropriate; balance buy vs build tradeoffs
  • Establish lifecycle practices: module versioning, deprecation policy, change control, and documentation standards
