About The Position

Seamless Migration is seeking a career and customer-oriented Cloud Infrastructure DevOps Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite attendance 3–4 days per week, with the potential for increased onsite requirements based on project and customer needs. The opportunity to convert to a full-time employee after approximately 6 months, if confirmed. The role involves designing and deploying robust cloud infrastructure solutions to support SAP products and services in an automation-first environment. The engineer will collaborate with internal product teams and customer-facing organizations to deliver adaptable, scalable, provider-agnostic infrastructure solutions, supporting government agencies and private sector organizations. Key responsibilities include writing and modifying Terraform code from an existing codebase, running and modifying Ansible playbooks, using GitLab for infrastructure management, configuring and deploying containerized services with Docker and/or Kubernetes, analyzing traffic flow, and producing technical documentation. A security-first mindset is essential, along with implementing monitoring, configuration management, and logging capabilities. The role also encourages the utilization of generative AI where practical and within security guidelines.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM) and least privilege principles.
  • Knowledge of AWS foundational technologies, including EC2, S3, IAM, Route53, and VPC.
  • Knowledge of Azure foundational technologies, including Virtual Networks, Application Gateway, Storage Accounts, Virtual Machines, Load Balancers, and Resource Groups.
  • Knowledge of GCP foundational technologies, including Projects, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
  • Proficiency using Terraform to build modules for deploying applications across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Bash or Python for automation.
  • Experience with RBAC design and user provisioning.
  • Strong investigation skills to review detailed infrastructure and configurations.
  • Experience with logging and log processing in cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of networking, including IP routing, subnetting, and network troubleshooting.
  • Strong Linux operating system deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
  • 5–8+ years of experience with Python, Terraform, Ansible, Concourse CI/CD, Vault, and Identity Management.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating system internals and administration, including filesystems, inodes, system calls, hardening, and networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, DNS, network topologies, and SDN.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen only (No Dual Citizenship).

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy robust cloud infrastructure solutions to support SAP products and services.
  • Work in an automation-first environment, deploying cloud resources through automation to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal product teams and customer-facing organizations to deliver adaptable, scalable, provider-agnostic infrastructure solutions.
  • Support infrastructure serving local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as private sector organizations supporting government-related missions.
  • Write, modify, and execute Terraform from an existing codebase to deploy and maintain infrastructure across multiple cloud providers, including troubleshooting deployment issues.
  • Run, modify, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks to manage customer infrastructure.
  • Use GitLab with multiple repositories to maintain customer infrastructure and create merge requests for infrastructure changes.
  • Configure, build, and deploy containerized services using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Analyze traffic flow between customer and hosted environments to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation related to network and system design and governance.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, technical bulletins, and other infrastructure documentation.
  • Operate with a security-first mindset in all responsibilities.
  • Implement monitoring, configuration management, and logging capabilities for multi-tenant cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud providers.
  • Utilize generative AI where practical and within security guidelines to improve efficiency, accuracy, consistency, security, and resource management.
