Cloud Engineering Intern - HP IQ
About The Position
HP IQ is HP’s AI innovation lab, combining startup agility with HP’s global scale to develop intelligent technologies and an ecosystem of AI-enabled products and services. The Cloud Services team builds the cloud foundation that supports and extends HP hardware, creating integrated cloud-based solutions that enhance functionality, performance, and user experiences across devices. The team works with engineering, machine learning, and infrastructure teams to make components operate as a cohesive system and support next-generation AI-driven devices. The Cloud Engineering Intern will collaborate with hardware, AI, and platform engineering teams to develop, test, and operate integrated cloud services. Projects may involve AI assistants, conference room devices, and other products. The role requires working independently and collaboratively to solve complex problems, deliver high-quality software, and communicate across teams to support alignment and project delivery. This is part of HP IQ’s 2027 internship program, scheduled for May/June through August/September 2027, with final dates based on student schedules.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience or strong interest in hardware-software integration, cloud services, and AI technologies.
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced team environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with automation and infrastructure.
- Exposure to building services at scale.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Spring Boot.
Responsibilities
