About The Position

The Cloud Engineer contributes to the growing practice around Cloud, Devops and Infrastructure as Code. This is a multidisciplinary systems engineering position within the Cloud Technologies team supporting continued growth and success within various business lines. The primary focus is on solving problems with innovative solutions leveraging modern cloud architecture and engineering practices to manage infrastructure and to automate processes. TMX Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join its growing practice around Cloud, Infrastructure Services, DevOps and Everything as Code. In this dynamic role, your primary focus will be on project delivery, while also supporting operational reliability, security, and performance across our AWS and Azure environments. You’ll support cloud-based infrastructure used by mission-critical applications, while also helping deliver infrastructure-as-code, automation, and modernization projects.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2–4 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience
  • Working experience with with AWS and/or Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, IAM, VNet/VPC, storage, compute)
  • Hands-on experience managing managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS) and an understanding of container lifecycles.
  • Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator)
  • Experience deploying infrastructure using Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, and VPNs in the cloud
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cost management strategies across cloud platforms
  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Exposure to security and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001)
  • Additional Certifications (cloud, security, devops, networking)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to architecting and deploying secure, scalable cloud infrastructure based on established best practices.
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools, primarily Terraform.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring availability, performance, and cost optimization
  • Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures
  • Support patching, backups, and recovery operations for cloud workloads
  • Collaborate with developers, security, and product teams to deliver project objectives
  • Contribute to documentation and operational handover of delivered solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotation providing after-hours support for critical workloads.
