Cloud Engineer

SPS Commerce
Remote

About The Position

As a Cloud Engineer on the Systems Integration team at SPS Commerce, you will play a key role in delivering reliable, secure, and cost-effective cloud operations across multiple business divisions. You will build, automate, and operate multi-cloud environments spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP, helping to integrate acquired systems into SPS’s cloud‑forward infrastructure. You will focus heavily on Infrastructure as Code, automation, and AI‑driven operations, bringing your cloud platform experience and hands-on exposure to AI tooling to solve real-world challenges from day one.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience across AWS and/or Azure — including compute, networking, storage, identity, and IaC — with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools — CloudFormation, Bicep, ARM templates, and/or Terraform
  • Scripting proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and operational tooling
  • Linux/Unix administration experience in a cloud environment
  • Experience participating in Disaster Recovery implementation and testing; familiarity with failover architecture, RPO/RTO planning, and runbook documentation
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, AWS Lambda, Azure DevOps, Logic Apps, Functions, or similar tooling
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor, Grafana, or equivalent
  • Understanding of cloud networking fundamentals: VPCs/VNets, subnets, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, and identity/authorization systems (Entra ID, IAM, SAML)
  • Familiarity with AI tooling in an operational or engineering context (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or similar); demonstrated interest in applying AI to cloud operations use cases

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or ECS
  • Cloud certifications are a plus: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or HashiCorp Terraform Associate

Responsibilities

  • Build, operate, and maintain highly available, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure — including compute, networking, storage, identity, and databases
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions (CloudFormation, Bicep, Terraform) for repeatable provisioning and configuration management across cloud platforms
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows using cloud-native tooling (AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions) and scripting to eliminate operational toil
  • Support Disaster Recovery implementation and testing; contribute to failover automation, DR runbooks, and recovery validation
  • Monitor and support observability systems; contribute to AIOps initiatives and apply AI use cases — including AI-integrated tooling and agent-based automation — to improve operational reliability
  • Support the security team in identifying and remediating cloud vulnerabilities; follow and help enforce best practices across access controls, identity management, and network segmentation
  • Collaborate with Technology Engineering, Development, and Product Management to develop and scale production systems; optimize cloud resource usage for cost control; participate in on-call rotation and incident response
  • Maintain documentation and runbooks that keep infrastructure legible, maintainable, and resilient

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ health, well-being, and financial security.
