About The Position

This role is for a Cloud Engineer specializing in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) at Frontex. The position involves administering and monitoring enterprise cloud environments, including subscriptions, identities, and resource management, with a focus on process automation. The engineer will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on cloud resource utilization and consumption, as well as preparing and maintaining reports, workflows, policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role also includes provisioning and de-provisioning development environments and DevOps projects, providing second-line support to application development teams for Cloud Services, and coordinating with third-line support. Participation in coordination and project meetings is expected, along with other duties assigned by the supervisor. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of IT relevant experience, with at least 2 years in relevant roles, and a minimum English language skill level of B2. A security clearance (CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL) is required, and the security screening procedure must be initiated within the first 45 days of assignment. The role is based at Frontex Headquarters in Warsaw, with a 50% remote work arrangement, for a duration of 48 months.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of IT relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years in relevant roles.
• Minimum level of education: Level 6.
• Minimum English language skills: B2.
• At least 1 certification is required among: mid-level AWS/Azure/Google Cloud certification, or an equivalent alternative certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the Contracting Authority).
• Technical knowledge of one or more enterprise Cloud technology services: Azure/AWS/Google Cloud (Identity, Networking, Compute, Storage, Web, Mobile, Containers, Databases, Analytics, AI & Machine learning).
• Experience in building a range of Cloud services including compute, storage, network.
• Excellent scripting skills and programming experience in the following languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Go, Bash, Windows command prompt and object orientated programming languages.
• Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting (preferably Red Hat).
• Basic knowledge in administering Microsoft systems.
• Deep knowledge of DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-a-Service concepts and techniques.
• Knowledge of Cloud security and compliance (e.g., Cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools).
• Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups.
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes.
• Good organizational and prioritising skills.
• A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation.

• Able to cope with fast changing technologies.
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert Az-400.
• Hashicorp Certified: Terraform Associate.

• Excellent knowledge of Cloud infrastructure and Platform Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Administering and monitoring of enterprise Cloud environments (including subscriptions, identities, resource management, automation of processes and tasks).
• Monitoring and reporting on resource utilization and consumption related to the Cloud.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining reports and workflows.
• Preparing, updating and maintaining policies, guidelines and SOPs.
• Provisioning and de-provisioning of development environments and DevOps projects.
• Providing 2nd line support to Frontex application development teams in regards of Cloud Services and coordinating with 3rd line of support.
• Participation in coordination and project meetings.
• Other specific duties as assigned by supervisor.
