Requirements

8 Years Required Experience in IT, supporting the design, development, deployment, or delivery of technology solutions.
8 Years Required Experience using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) to migrate data from Oracle to AWS.
8 Years Required Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion, including full loads, Change Data Capture (CDC), and streaming architectures.
8 Years Required Experience with AWS cloud services, specifically designing and implementing infrastructure and networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, routing).
8 Years Required Experience with core AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda) and infrastructure-as client's-code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform).
8 Years Required Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration methodologies in cloud migration projects.
8 Years Required Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
8 Years Required Experience configuring and managing cloud network security, including VPNs, Direct Connect, and security groups.
8 Years Required Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
8 Years Required Experience developing data migration and cutover plans, including rollback strategies and minimizing downtime.
8 Years Required Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including documenting technical designs and migration runbooks.
8 Years Required Experience with hybrid cloud/on-premises connectivity and legacy system modernization.

Nice To Haves

4 Years Preferred AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database – Specialty.
1 Year Preferred Experience working in public sector or state government environments.

Responsibilities

Seeking a Cloud Data Migration Engineer with hands-on experience migrating Oracle workloads to AWS using AWS DMS, supporting full-load, CDC, and real-time streaming data migration architectures.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS infrastructure and networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPNs, Direct Connect), cloud-native services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda), and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Experience with ETL/ELT processes, migration planning, cutover and rollback strategies, automation using Python/Bash/PowerShell, and monitoring through CloudWatch and CloudTrail is required.
Strong communication skills and experience modernizing legacy on-premises systems in hybrid cloud environments are highly desirable.
Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports.
Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.
Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
