About The Position

Under administrative direction, the Clinton County Workforce Development Coordinator serves as the countywide “backbone” lead for the Clinton County Workforce Collaborative (CCWC), championing workforce development efforts across Clinton County and ensuring a coordinated, measurable, and equitable system of career exploration, career pathways, and work-based learning (WBL). The Coordinator provides a single point of coordination for partners, builds and maintains employer engagement with K-12 partners, strengthens and supports district implementation of a range of WBL opportunities, and supports the mission, vision, goals, and operations of the CCWC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, economic development, business, public administration, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of workforce development, project management, education-business partnership, or related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with educators, employers, local government, service providers, and/or community organizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, data/reporting routines, and stakeholder communications.
  • Must pass any required background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong partnership-building, facilitation, communication, and public speaking skills; ability to coordinate across diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational/project management and data/metrics tracking skills; ability to translate data into action.
  • Knowledge of workforce development, WBL, career exploration, Career-Technical Education pathways, and relevant youth employment considerations (e.g., student safety, permissions, basic compliance expectations).
  • Must be willing to obtain appropriate licensure through the Ohio State Board of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support CCWC governance structures as needed.
  • Assist the CCWC Steering Committee with annual strategic planning.
  • Facilitate quarterly continuous-improvement cycles and annual impact reporting.
  • Assist with securing annual financial contributions from program investors and seek grant opportunities to support program budget needs.
  • Promote CCWC through a variety of channels (website, social media, in-person presentations, news outlets).
  • Serve as leader in the program role with the Clinton County Business Advisory Council (BAC).
  • Enthusiastically participate in activities and initiatives of the CCWC.
  • Develop and publish a centralized employer engagement menu (speaker, tour host, job shadow, internship, project partner) and maintain an updated employer directory/contact system.
  • Increase employer participation and representation across priority sectors; maintain updated understanding of employer needs and opportunities.
  • Promote and share opportunities for engagement with clear expectations of employer and educator responsibilities related to those opportunities.
  • Support districts in building/expanding career exploration progression (PK-5, 6–8, 9–12) and Career-Technical Education pathways/programs of study aligned to local workforce needs.
  • Coordinate countywide career exploration activities (e.g., immersion tours, Career Exploration Fairs, etc.) and ensure consistent planning, reflection, and next-step pathways.
  • Serve as a connector between educators and employers to strengthen durable skills development, project-based partnerships, and educator externships/industry immersion as capacity allows.
  • Build and implement a countywide WBL toolkit according to current state regulations and train district liaisons/employer hosts.
  • Coordinate Ohio’s WBL experiences with partners (including OhioMeansJobs) to expand WBL volume and quality across districts.
  • Encourage student readiness supports (professionalism, communication, time management) and consistent experience expectations for participating employers.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, tools, and shared processes; ensure consistent implementation across districts while honoring local district goals.
  • Coordinate cross-district routines, share best practices, and support professional learning and networking opportunities across districts.
  • Lead tracking and transparent reporting aligned to CCWC KPIs (students served, WBL completed, active employers engaged, employer retention, internship placements/completion, satisfaction measures, action item completion).
  • Performs all duties in conformity with the adopted Principle of Service.
