Eureka City Schools Clinician
About The Position
The ECS Clinician is an embedded behavioral health provider serving students within the Eureka City Schools system. This year-round position provides direct clinical services while partnering closely with school administrators, teachers, counselors, families, and community partners to support student success. Responsibilities include individual therapy, crisis intervention, participation in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) meetings, collaboration with school staff, and helping connect students and families with appropriate behavioral health resources. The clinician serves as an integral member of the school team while maintaining clinical standards and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Must have a master’s degree in Social work, Counseling, or other equivalent degree.
- Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
Responsibilities
- Provide individual behavioral health assessments and ongoing therapy for students.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable treatment goals.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, safety plans, releases of information, and other required records.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as clinically indicated.
- Attend and actively participate in MTSS meetings.
- Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and support staff regarding student behavioral health needs while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Provide consultation regarding behavioral health concerns and interventions.
- Participate in school staff meetings and other multidisciplinary meetings as requested.
- Provide behavioral health triage and crisis intervention for students as needed.
- Complete risk assessments and safety planning when clinically indicated.
- Coordinate with school personnel, caregivers, emergency responders, and community resources during crisis situations.
- Notify the Clinical Supervisor of all crisis responses, mandated reports, and other significant clinical events on the same business day.
- Establish and maintain appropriate therapeutic and professional boundaries.
- Follow clinical supervision recommendations and agency policies.
- Maintain compliance with BBS requirements, including tracking supervised hours and required documentation.
- Complete required training and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain professional relationships with school personnel, community partners, and families.
- Represent Humboldt NeuroHealth Therapeutic Services professionally within the school community.
- Manage caseload efficiently while maintaining productivity expectations.
- Monitor authorizations and documentation requirements.
- Complete documentation within agency timelines.
- Assist with program development and quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
