In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, and working collaboratively and in partnership with the inter-professional care team in the provision of person-centered care, the Clinician Wound & Skin Care/IVT PICC Insertions performs a dual role. This role involves demonstrating clinical expertise and leadership in evidence-based practice for wound and skin care, including consulting with experts, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and providing direct care. It also includes delivering educational activities to staff and clients/families, developing and revising professional development programs, and participating in quality improvement and research. Additionally, the role involves providing direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute medical unit, outpatient intravenous (IV) setting, or home environment, including assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care. This includes providing IV therapy and performing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertions, as well as wound and skin care, and educating clients and families on wound care and IV management.
