About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience in Spokane, dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment for behavioral health issues to adults, youth, and seniors. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, FBH believes in client recovery and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives. The organization offers a variety of services including outpatient, inpatient, community outreach, and crisis services, with a focus on culturally appropriate and trauma-informed care. The Forensic PATH team specifically works with individuals involved in the forensic mental health system, assisting them in accessing community resources across Region 1 of Washington State. This role involves assessing needs, providing case management, assisting with employment and educational services, and supporting Social Security benefits applications. The Clinician I is part of a multi-disciplinary team providing outreach and engagement to individuals involved in the criminal justice system or high utilizers of emergency services. The team collaborates with other forensic programs to locate, engage, and build rapport with individuals, leveraging existing services to enhance support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related field from accredited college or university.
  • Must apply for a Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from the WA State Department of Health within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test, have active car insurance, and be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Responsibilities

  • Locate individuals identified on the HCA referral list.
  • Create or further develop recovery plans and on-going support to promote progress in care.
  • Provision crisis and hospital diversion services to individuals at high risk.
  • Complete suicide and homicide risk assessments to determine a level of response needed to maintain the safety of the client or others.
  • Assist non-Medicaid individuals to access Medicaid as appropriate.
  • Assist with obtaining SOAR services.
  • Provide evaluation and treatment for patients who have behavioral health concerns.
  • Assist and complete care plans and provide assessments and referrals for outpatient or inpatient treatment.
  • Provide consultation, training, and education to staff regarding behavioral health issues as assigned by supervisor.
  • Facilitate use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.
  • Identify and include the client’s support network in care coordination.
  • Assist clients in identifying and accessing resources which will meet their needs.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with community resources on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain client records and all other required documentation in a timely and confidential manner, in accordance with agency policies and practices.
  • Requires travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites either via FBH owned Vehicles and/or personal vehicle.
  • Other duties as assigned.
