The Clinical Training Specialist will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering clinical training programs for both new and existing health center locations. This role is crucial for ensuring that clinical team members, including Medical Assistants, Providers, and other care team members, are trained to meet organizational standards, protocols, and workflows. The Specialist will also support new hire onboarding, conduct competency assessments, and provide ongoing education and remediation to enhance clinical quality, patient safety, and team performance.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or allied health profession (e.g., MA, RT, LPN, RN).
  • Current BLS/AED Certification
  • Child Clearance - Act 33
  • Criminal Clearance - Act 38
  • FBI Clearance - Act 73
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical role in primary care, urgent care, or similar outpatient setting.
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years experience in formal training delivery.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for diverse adult learning styles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess training needs, identify skill gaps, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Skilled in EMR workflows, clinical documentation, and chart auditing.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (docs, sheets, slides) and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across various locations.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build positive working relationships with clinical and operational teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in training program development or clinical education.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (e.g., eClinicalWorks).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured orientation programs for Medical Assistants, clinical staff, and Providers.
  • Conduct on-site and virtual training for new clinic openings, including workflow simulation and go-live support.
  • Develop and update training materials, job aids, checklists, and policy-based education tools.
  • Collaborate with Area Managers, Clinical Leaders, and Operations to assess training needs.
  • Facilitate mock clinics, hands-on skills training, and real-time coaching during and after new health center go-live.
  • Conduct chart audits and clinical quality checks to identify trends and provide targeted remediation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for EMR workflows, clinical processes, documentation, and best practices.
  • Track training participation and competency validation in collaboration with the Training Coordinator.
  • Stay current with clinical practice guidelines, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of clinical onboarding plans for new hires.
  • Support training initiatives related to quality improvement, patient experience, and EMR changes.
  • Provide peer coaching, mentorship, and support to new or developing clinical team members.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training strategies for enterprise initiatives.
