About The Position

Primary Health Solutions (PHS) is seeking a Clinical Trainer to join their growing team. This role provides oversight and implementation of clinical training and development initiatives, aiming to enhance the expertise of PHS clinical team members in patient care skills through demonstrations, continuing education, and other educational offerings. The Clinical Trainer will also support the HR function with standard clinical and EHR processes, competency assessments, and activities related to recruitment, on-boarding, retraining, and the Medical Assistant preceptor program.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant or higher clinical degree
  • Three or more years of training experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
  • Experience working with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, and clinical support staff
  • Impeccable organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail
  • Great interpersonal skills with a desire to continuously educate employees in both classroom and clinical settings
  • High empathy skills and understanding of effective teaching methodologies
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt to various learning style needs

Nice To Haves

  • Training certification strongly preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve on-boarding training for new clinical employees in group and/or one-on-one settings, for both virtual and classroom environments.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR team members to ensure a valuable on-boarding experience for staff.
  • Develop and improve clinical training curriculum.
  • Assign and assess clinical competencies of new clinical employees, ensuring they can work independently within 90 days.
  • Conduct 30-60-90 day competency assessments of new clinical hires.
  • Work with the Training & Development Coordinator and NextGen EHR training resources to ensure clinical and EHR workflows are effective.
  • Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures aligned with best practices and standard workflows.
  • Coordinate and conduct annual or recurring training.
  • Participate in developing and implementing clinical services and training strategies to address performance gaps.
  • Act as the PHS contact and provide oversight for the Medical Assistant Preceptor Program and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Placement Program.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to recommend clinical staff for continuing education and development opportunities to enhance skills and promote retention.
  • Work with leadership, IT, HR, Clinic Operations, and other stakeholders on projects, change management, training strategy, and project roll-outs.
