Requirements

  • Requires a BSW in social work or a master’s degree in social work or counseling.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness, individual, group counseling skills, assessment skills, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to provide superior service, and enthusiastic support for the mission of the agency.
  • Must demonstrate personal integrity, the ability to develop and work as part of a team, and a commitment to the mission of the agency.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and at times hostile individuals.
  • Must be able to drive and be insured under the agency’s commercial liability policy as a driver if hired in a program where driving is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides diagnostic service via face-to-face contact with clients under the supervision of a licensed independent clinician or via telehealth under the supervision of a licensed independent clinician.
  • Provides treatment planning and counseling services to an assigned caseload of clients in accordance with state mandates, established agency and program policies, procedures, and philosophy.
  • Documents all services provided and maintains records utilizing the electronic record in accordance with agency policy/procedure.
  • Provides direct therapeutic services to assigned clients with mental illness and adjustment difficulties through individual, group and family therapy or through the diagnostic assessment process.
  • Supports early childhood mental health consultation as part of the Whole Child Matters grant.
  • Conducts diagnostic assessments, individual therapy and family therapy for children with a focus on ages 0-6.
