About The Position

Roots is an interdisciplinary specialty clinic that provides “bottom-up” therapy and treatment. We believe that in order to find healing and maximize growth and development, the root of any issue must be identified and resolved. Our interdisciplinary treatment model is founded on the belief that everyone on the team brings unique skills and qualities to our practice. This allows us to offer premium-level treatment services including clinical treatment, rehab therapies, and other complementary services to provide individualized and comprehensive care to our patients. Roots is seeking a Clinical Therapist who is passionate about helping patients with a range of psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders improve their emotional regulation capacities and improve overall social-emotional, relational, and behavioral functioning, who has experience working with patients with various complex psychological presentations, particularly with clients with trauma histories and presentations. This practitioner would have the opportunity to grow into a supervisory role, providing clinical supervision to pre-licensed clinicians, consultation to licensed clinical therapists on the team, and would report directly to the clinic owner.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Psychology, Master of Clinical Social Work, Master of Arts in Counseling, or other related degree
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan
  • Specialized training in trauma/psychosomatic treatment or related specialty areas (EMDR required; others may include TBRI, Theraplay, Play Project, MNRI, somatic psychotherapy, DIR, etc.)
  • Experience working with challenging populations/disorders/diagnoses
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary work, recognizing the importance and value of a holistic treatment approach
  • Experience supervising limited license practitioners or clinical teams

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals for a variety of psychological, behavioral, relational, and other social-emotional delays and disorders.
  • Supervise clinical practitioners
  • High attention to detail when planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting treatment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully utilize EHR (electronic health record) system for scheduling, documentation, and patient record management.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain regular attendance.
