About The Position

The Clinical Team Leader at MAHEC works in collaboration with the clinical leadership team and operates as the first line of support for staff, faculty, residents and other ancillary service providers. The Clinical Team Leader assists with maintaining efficient patient flow, quality care, and a positive patient experience within the clinic. Performs the daily duties of the Certified Medical Assistant.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT.
  • NHA candidates must have completed a one (1) to two (2) year diploma or degree program or have two (2) years of prior clinical experience.
  • One (1) year relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications required.
  • Electronic health record experience.
  • Current CPR Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking skills preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience for patients of all ages.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate in an effective, professional manner.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all.
  • Provide oversight of daily operations in the Clinic and Laboratory areas.
  • Provide backup support for the clinical staff when needed.
  • Gives assistance and/or direction to staff to facilitate quality patient flow.
  • Assist with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times, and other areas of concern to increase efficient and quality services.
  • Plan and assist with coordination of unit staff schedules and submit for Clinic Director approval.
  • Organize and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members.
  • In conjunction with clinical leadership, consult with preceptors and orientees on a regular basis to provide support and determine how orientation should proceed on an individual basis.
  • Provide clinical/education updates and skill check-offs to entire staff on a regular basis.
  • Reinforces system changes in the department to ensure staff understands process and workflow changes.
  • Perform Clinical chart audits as needed.
  • Assists with daily and monthly quality assurance checks including emergency box check off.
  • Coordinate the inventory, ordering and supply stock maintenance of medical supplies.
  • Perform administrative tasks, project management, clinical care, and other duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator.
