About The Position

The Clinical Teaching Assistant (CTA) will assist the nursing program faculty in supervising and supporting students during clinical learning experiences. CTAs will work under the guidance of a master’s or doctorally-prepared nursing faculty member to ensure excellence in student skills performance, evaluation, and overall clinical learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
  • At least one year of full-time direct patient care experience as a registered nurse within the last five years.
  • Ability to supervise up to 10-15 students when working alongside a supervising faculty member.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective mentoring and teaching abilities in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Professional integrity and ability to model ethical behavior.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with nursing program curriculum and clinical objectives is a plus.
  • Commitment to fostering student success in a clinical learning environment.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in designated teaching areas.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide students during clinical and simulation learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure clinical competencies are met and student needs are addressed.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and simulation facility policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing faculty and clinical students.
  • Provide constructive feedback under the supervision of nursing faculty.
