About The Position

The Clinical Support Representative serves as a primary liaison between physicians and patients, primarily through electronic messaging. This role involves managing patient requests for test results, follow-up care, and prescription refills by preparing and communicating messages to physicians. The position requires strong communication skills, both in person and in writing, extensive knowledge of practice policies and procedures, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key attributes include accuracy, efficiency, strong organizational skills, and the ability to comprehend patient medical charts, medical terminology, prescription medications, and physician messages. Proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) systems is essential.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistance Certificate or equivalent experience
  • 2 years clinical experience in a medical environment.
  • Strong knowledge base of Medical Terminology
  • High school or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Be a liaison between physician and patient via electronic messaging.
  • Prepare and communicate messages to the physicians regarding patient requests for test results, and follow up care.
  • Prepare messages directly to physician for patient requests of prescription refills.
  • Communicate effectively in person, on the telephone and in writing.
  • Work independently, and as a team worker.
  • Demonstrate accuracy, efficiency and strong organizational skills.
  • Read and comprehend patient medical charts, medical terminology, prescription medications, and physician messages.
  • Utilize strong computer skills and interpretation for both EHR and PM systems.
