About The Position

Children’s Minnesota is a leading pediatric health system dedicated to providing specialized care for children from infancy through young adulthood. The Minneapolis 6th floor is a 33-bed pediatric medical/surgical unit caring for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions in patients from infants to young adults. The unit specializes in conditions such as cystic fibrosis, respiratory issues, non-critical trauma, neurological disorders, and urological conditions. Patients are supported by inter-disciplinary teams including child life specialists, social workers, integrative medicine practitioners, dietitians, and case managers. The unit fosters teamwork, open communication, and a supportive environment for learning and professional growth, with a commitment to excellent patient and family care.

Requirements

  • Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
  • Skills in basic computer operation.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.
