About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a Clinical Supervisor to oversee mental health outpatient treatment at their site. This role involves supervising Mental Health Therapists, providing direct client services, conducting groups, intakes, and assessments. The Clinical Supervisor will also manage support staff, ensure system implementation, and coordinate with the Behavioral Health Program Manager on administrative and clinical procedures. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the Social Science or Social Service field.
  • Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • If not licensed, must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License (may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment) or mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker).
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in the field, with some administrative experience.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
  • Must take a TB test annually and at time of hire.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all time during the flu season.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Mental Health Professional; certification as minority Mental Health Specialist as prescribed by WAC, is preferred
  • Licensed status is preferred (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW).
  • Licensed status preferred: (Washington State Department of Health LMHC, LMFT, and LICSW).
  • Knowledge and experience working with Latinos, migrant and seasonal farm workers, and homeless individuals, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in interviewing and selecting candidates for employment, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work/caseloads for employees.
  • Review client charts to ensure compliance with BHO, DBHR, and TJC (The Joint Commission) requirements.
  • Provide clinical individual and group supervision to all mental health therapists, peer specialists, case managers and program staff working on your site.
  • Review and approve the therapists’ clinical documentation in Cerner, as appropriate.
  • Ensure staff meets their weekly service hours and monthly productivity requirements.
  • Ensure staff has full caseloads and that caseloads are adequately distributed among all staff.
  • Ensure client retention and treatment success.
  • Ensure all staff follows the Sea Mar patient-centered model.
  • Conduct weekly file reviews and implement appropriate corrective actions to ensure files meet Federal, State, County, and Sea Mar requirements.
  • Report all findings to the Program Manager and, as appropriate, to the Regional Behavioral Health Director.
  • Ensure QI reports are completed on a timely manner.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the BHO and referral agencies.
  • Promote the program to community based agencies, faith communities, social services agencies, criminal justice institutions, community health centers, schools, and any other potential referral agency.
  • Ensure clinical staff submits daily collected data and daily data entry in the regional data system.
  • Ensure data timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ensure client information is protected and that all employees follow the HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
  • Ensure high quality of care for all Sea Mar patients.
  • Ensure daily completion of electronic progress notes.
  • Review and approve electronic progress notes, when necessary, in a timely fashion.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.
  • Provide clinical supervision of mental health staff as required by WAC and ensure client care is provided according to the WAC, county contracts, TJC, and Sea Mar Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure system integration of care (primary care, behavioral health, dental care and overall health) for all patients.
  • Participate in management meetings and staff meetings in order to coordinate effectively with other members of staff and management team, assists in making appropriate inter-agency referrals.
  • Provide outpatient evaluations, assessments, and psychotherapy to individuals and families in a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients, including home visits, if necessary in order to assess and evaluate the consumer’s psychiatric status, basic needs, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Consult and collaborate with other professionals/agencies on client evaluations, treatment plans and follow-up.
  • Prepare concise, complete and timely consumer records, according to agency policy and WAC requirements.
  • Assure that their clinical staff maintains updated documentation as required by WAC, County and State contracts.
  • Assure that all clinical staff meets TJC standards in the delivery of clinical services.
  • All other duties as assigned by Regional Director.
