About The Position
Scripps Health is seeking a compassionate, motivated Social Worker for its multidisciplinary team at Scripps Chula Vista in Chula Vista, California. Social Workers assist patients and families with personal and environmental problems that predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. The role works on the medical and maternity floors and includes peer supervision for other staff, education for social work interns, and assistance with program planning and service organization. The ideal candidate can thrive in a fast-paced environment while triaging patients with multiple psychosocial issues and has discharge experience. LCSW supervision is available. This is a part-time position for 48 hours per pay period, scheduled three days per week from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university or college, or a Master’s degree in Family Therapy (MFT).
- MFT applicants must have hospital experience.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and other hospital employees.
- Working knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and appeal procedures relevant to Federal, State, and other reimbursement programs.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred.
- Acute hospital experience.
- Licensed by the State of California Behavioral Science Examiners Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The position offers LCSW supervision to candidates who do not currently hold an LCSW.
- Discharge experience.
