About The Position

The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the overall functioning and communication within the Social Services Department. This role serves as an integral member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, providing, implementing, and assisting with supervision of social service interventions for patients. The Clinical Social Worker collaborates with clinical departments through consultation with medical staff, the Director of Nursing (DON), and nursing staff to support coordinated patient care. This role facilitates resolution of identified patient concerns and ensures services, programming, and psychosocial needs are met with the highest quality of care. The Clinical Social Worker is expected to demonstrate understanding and interpretation of facility policies to ensure compliance. The role requires strong knowledge of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, case conferences, family communication, and leadership in treatment team meetings. Additional duties include participation in performance improvement initiatives and quality management (QM) activities. The Clinical Social Worker adheres to the highest ethical standards in patient care and rights and facilitates communication with outside agencies to ensure patient needs are met.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work
  • Current licensure through the appropriate State Regulatory Board for Social Workers
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Behavioral Health setting as a Social Worker
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Proficiency with PC systems
  • Basic knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
  • Understanding of medical and psychiatric diagnoses
  • Valid Photo ID
  • Social Security Card and/or Driver’s License
  • Primary source verification of education
  • Copy of clinical license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Behavioral Management Training certification
