About The Position
The Clinical Social Worker works at Scripps Memorial La Jolla, assisting patients and families with personal and environmental problems that predispose them to illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. The role also provides peer supervision for other staff, educates social work interns, and assists with program planning and the organization of services. This is a full-time position with a varied schedule, Monday through Sunday.
Requirements
- Able to maintain good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and other hospital employees.
- Working knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and appeal procedures related to Federal, State, and other reimbursement programs.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university or college (MSW), or a Master’s degree in Family Therapy (MFT).
Nice To Haves
- Acute care hospital experience.
- Licensed by the State of California Behavioral Science Examiners Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Ability to speak another language.
