About The Position

The Clinical Social Worker provides social work services to patients throughout the cancer center. In partnership with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other disciplines, the social worker develops and implements coordinated, personalized plans to address patient needs across the continuum of care. The role involves assessing patient needs, planning and facilitating options and services, and addressing both medical and psychosocial needs in light of available resources. The social worker is committed to maximizing each patient’s quality of life and enhancing community health, and performs duties consistent with the hospital’s mission, values, and the NASW Code of Ethics. The position requires knowledge and skills appropriate to the patients served and promotes teamwork among healthcare team members.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Licensed Clinical Social Work status or eligibility for a provisional license, with attainment of LCSW in process.
• Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties consistent with the hospital mission, values, and NASW Code of Ethics.
