Clinical Responder (7am - 7pm)

NFH•Lexington, KY

About The Position

At Network for Hope (NFH), Clinical Responders help advance the organization’s mission of saving and enhancing lives through organ, tissue, and eye donation. The role ensures eligible organ referrals receive timely evaluation and follow-up by conducting onsite assessments of potential donors, collaborating with healthcare teams, and facilitating communication throughout the donation process. It calls for clinical expertise, sound decision-making in high-pressure situations, and professionalism and compassion. Clinical Responders respond onsite to viable organ referrals at hospitals in the donation service area, review medical charts, and assess donation suitability in collaboration with clinical personnel. They work with healthcare teams to manage referrals from initial contact through declaration of death or a donation-after-circulatory-death (DCD) evaluation, keep hospital staff informed, and maintain accurate referral documentation. They also support customer-service concerns and consult with the designated on-call organ administrator and Family Support Liaison as needed. The position builds stakeholder relationships, provides excellent service in routine and stressful situations, and promotes organ and tissue donation and a positive image of NFH.
