Clinical Research Nurse
About The Position
The Clinical Research Nurse will be responsible for responding to patient alerts, assessing patient symptoms, following clinical protocols, documenting findings, plan, outcome in EMR and data collection tools. They will obtain and record research data in conjunction with physicians and other professionals on the research team; enroll study subjects, interview subjects; review medical records; assist in planning nursing aspects of medical team research; and complete data collection tools. The role involves establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their families, professional or community groups and volunteers, and maintaining contact with public agencies involved with aspects of the research. The nurse will determine eligibility of potential study participants, obtain informed consent, enroll patients in research protocols, and coordinate all aspects of the patient’s care. They will explain research protocols to participants, respond to patient inquiries, schedule patient participation, ensure compliance with research protocols, and inform referring physicians of protocol requirements. The position also includes collecting, recording, organizing, transcribing, and verifying the accuracy of research data, and coordinating the collection of research data, including creating data collection tools through applications such as REDCap. The Clinical Research Nurse will work with administrative staff and research peers, or the Principal Investigator (PI), on Institutional Review Board submissions. They will communicate with sponsors, auditors, monitoring agencies, and the Institutional Review Board(s) in a timely, accurate, and effective manner. The role performs other duties as necessary to conduct study and carry out related functions of the Division. This position will cover Alachua, Bradford, Gilchrist and Union Counties, requiring reliable transportation and willingness to drive up to 1 hour between clinical locations on weekdays. Some work will be in person, and some will be via telehealth/remote.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program
- Four years of professional nursing experience
- Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Willingness to drive up to 1 hour between clinical locations on weekdays
