Lab, Clinical Research Laboratory Technologist
About The Position
Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire a full-time Clinical Research Laboratory Technologist working from our laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA @ Nova Place location, with a start date on or before June 30, 2026. You will be working in conjunction with the laboratory scientist teams, supporting exciting clinical research studies, initiatives, and innovation. The day-to-day will include processing of research samples using fluorescence technologies. Your work will contribute to a variety of projects that impact patient healthcare including evidence development studies and process improvements. Processing of patient samples according to SOPs for high complexity clinical laboratory testing including fluorescence staining and fluorescence microscopy with primary focus of clinical study subject samples, maintaining excellent records of testing completed for evidence development to support Castle's clinical test offerings, and working hand-in-hand with the clinical scientist team to develop and test hypotheses, analyze data, and identify meaningful insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution, plus 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
- Completion of military training for laboratory technicians as high complexity testing.
- Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training program.
- Minimum 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses, including 6 semester hours of both Chemistry & Biology & an additional 12 semester hours in any combination of Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory.
- Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, successful collaboration with others, and independent work.
- All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Currently, Castle Biosciences does not sponsor H-1B visas, OPT, or employment-related visas.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred 2-4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2-4 years of clinical research experience.
- The Clinical Research Technologist in the clinical research laboratory can be placed on a track towards obtaining American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB) board certification if not already credentialed upon hire.
