About The Position

Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire a full-time Clinical Research Laboratory Technologist working from our Phoenix, AZ office location, with a start date on or before June 30, 2026. This role is a hands-on bench position focused on supporting clinical research studies. Responsibilities include preparing and processing patient samples, operating laboratory instruments, and executing assays in strict accordance with approved SOPs and study plans. You will work closely with Clinical Research Scientists to support ongoing studies, follow experimental designs, and resolve technical issues to ensure accurate and timely testing. Daily tasks also include maintaining sample tracking and workflows in LIMS, performing routine quality control and equipment maintenance, and documenting results in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. Depending on study needs, you may perform molecular techniques such as RNA/DNA extraction or PCR-based assays and support assay development, validation, and data review in a collaborative research laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment
  • Completion of military training for laboratory technicians as high complexity testing
  • Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training program
  • Minimum 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses, including 6 semester hours of both Chemistry & Biology & an additional 12 semester hours in any combination of Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory
  • Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, successful collaboration with others, and independent work
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2-4 years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Preferred 2-4 years of clinical research experience
  • Possession of American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Technologist in Molecular Biology (MB) board certification
