About The Position

The UW Clinical Trials Institute (CTI), within the School of Medicine and Public Health, is hiring an entry-level or experienced full-time Clinical Research Coordinator. The role supports the operation and execution of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and UW Health. Coordinators interact with current and prospective participants of all ages and backgrounds, carry out research protocol procedures, protect study data integrity, and contribute to participant screening, recruitment, and retention. Senior team members may also help train and mentor less experienced staff. This is primarily an on-site position with standard business hours during the workweek, though study activities may require extended days of up to approximately 14 hours, evenings, some holidays, and weekends. A remote day may be available during the probationary period at the supervisor’s discretion. The role may require travel between research sites in the Madison metropolitan area. A valid driver’s license is required, and employees may use their own transportation or seek approval to use the University Car Fleet. Employment is conditional on a pre-hire Driver Authorization Check and an initial caregiver check, with caregiver checks repeated every four years. Applicants may be considered for Clinical Research Coordinator I or II; the final title depends on the finalist’s qualifications and experience. The starting salary is $51,000 for CRC I and $56,000 for CRC II, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. The CTI describes its culture as collaborative, supportive, and team-oriented, with an emphasis on advancing research in disease prevention, detection, and treatment.
