About The Position

The Asthma/Airway Disease Research Center is accepting applications for Clinical Research Coordinators to join the team. The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC-1) will provide dedicated research support for clinical trials focused on complex respiratory illness (e.g., allergy, asthma, COPD, and cystic fibrosis). The CRC-I will conduct all manner of activities and assessments related to research in the Asthma and Airway Disease Research Center (A2DRC) Clinical Research Unit (CRU), including recruitment, pulmonary function testing, collection of samples, processing of specimens, and data entry. This position is responsible for adhering to all regulatory matters associated with the conduct of clinical trials and assisting with the design or modification of study source documents. Occasional travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in Human Subject Research.
  • Experience with both adult and pediatric research patients and subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Support all day-to-day activities involved with research protocols.
  • Assist with participant recruitment, primarily scheduling and consenting research participants.
  • Assist CRC leads with data collection and data entry (adhering to proper protocols).
  • Prepare study materials for each study protocol.
  • Prepare and process biological specimens; etc.
  • Perform study-related procedures under the direction of the study lead and/or manager, including administering questionnaires, performing phlebotomy, collecting nasal swabs and brushings, conducting sputum induction, and performing pulmonary function testing.
  • Assist the investigational pharmacy to order, collect, and distribute the appropriate study pharmaceuticals, as needed.
  • Maintain drug accountability and destruction logs, as required.
  • Access appropriate electronic medical records (EMRs) as needed to confirm inclusion/exclusion of research participants and to log AE’s/SAE’s.
  • Assist the regulatory team with monitoring visits: Prepare monitoring room prior to monitoring visits. Review and confirm study materials are available and complete. Escort monitor to A2DRC and restricted hospital areas, as appropriate and necessary. Provide requested documents to monitor throughout the visit. Assist with any actionable items following each site visit.
  • Participate in health fairs, community events, workshops, and other development activities under the direction of the CRU Manager, as requested.
