The Clinical Research Coordinator II handles administrative activities generally associated with the conduct of clinical trials. This full-time (40 hours/week) position will support a 5-year clinical research study funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Superfund Research Program (SRP), examining relationships between chemical exposures and health outcomes in adults residing in Glynn County, Georgia. The CRC will be the primary on-the-ground presence for study operations in Glynn County and will serve as an essential point of contact for study participants. The CRC should be highly organized, proactive, reliable, and willing to work on the occasional night or weekend. This is a locally based position; candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Glynn County, GA area. The CRC will report to the study investigators at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health and will work closely with other team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing study visits with research participants. This includes conducting informed consent processes, administering questionnaires, collecting and managing biological specimens, and maintaining all required study documentation. The CRC will be expected to follow protocols and applicable safety, ethical, and regulatory requirements, maintain accurate and organized study records, and perform routine data quality checks. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a field-based research environment while collaborating closely with a larger research team. Although the position is based in Glynn County, the CRC will interact regularly with the Research Project Manager and study investigators at Emory to provide updates on field operations, identify and resolve issues, and ensure consistent implementation of study protocols. The position also requires the ability to collect, store, and ship biological specimens and to communicate effectively with study participants and research staff. Occasional travel to Atlanta for team meetings or professional development activities is possible and will be covered by the study. An essential job requirement is that the CRC can build and maintain trusted relationships with study participants and community partners in Glynn County to support participant retention and to fulfill the value of community-engaged research. The clinical research coordinator will work in the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health and will support the COAST Superfund Research Center.
