About The Position

Under the direct supervision of senior research staff, the Clinical Research Assistant assists the Principal Investigator and study team with delegated duties to support clinical trials. The role supports study-file organization and maintenance, recruitment and retention of research subjects, study visits and procedures under direct supervision, and processing, storage, and shipment of research samples. The assistant performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards. Departmental documentation provided during orientation specifies additional duties and responsibilities. The role requires compliance with requirements for the safe and secure handling of patients’ Protected Health Information (PHI), including annual training and adherence to the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school equivalent or GED.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Certification in Human Subjects Protection (CITI) required within 30 days.
DOT/IATA training required within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

Some college.
Proficiency in medical terminology.
Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Knowledge of sample processing techniques.

Responsibilities
